TV Chile Signs Internet Distribution Deal with JumpTV

Worldscreen.com, March 7, 2006

SANTIAGO, March 7: Broadcaster TV Chile announced that it will make its programming available globally through an exclusive partnership with JumpTV to distribute its content over the Internet.

For a monthly subscription of $9.95, subscribers to JumpTV will be able to watch TV Chile's content 24 hours a day, including this season's new programs. Subscribers will also have live access to exclusive coverage as the first female president in Chilean history, Michelle Bachelet, takes office.

Jump TV's global Internet video network streams international television signals from stations in nearly 60 countries live via its website. Subscribers can access their favorite channels through any Internet-enabled device, including home computers, laptops, Internet-enabled televisions, mobile phones and video game consoles.

"TV Chile has nearly two decades of experience creating and broadcasting the most popular variety television content in the southern hemisphere. The quality of our programming has already created a large global audience that we are looking to expand upon," said Ernesto Lombardi, managing director of TV Chile International. "Partnering with JumpTV will allow us to further globalize the TV Chile brand with little to no cost, while providing Chileans living outside of Chile, or anyone with an interest in Chile, borderless access to our programming via the Internet."

"Since most of TV Chile's content is geared towards an international audience, we felt the partnership made eminent sense," said Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, president of JumpTV. "Chileans living in the diaspora long for the mix of news, variety programs and entertainment that TV Chile provides. We are thrilled to be able to include TV Chile in our growing network of television channels from South America."
