Caribbean literature blended with Caribbean TV every Sunday in Book Talk. Jeff Broomes and his guests discuss new Caribbean and Barbadian books with their authors. About Jeff BroomesA teacher by day, cricket commentator, manager, sports enthusiast, Jeff Broomes still finds time to host Book Talk and Homework Action Line. An English teacher by profession, Jeff has worked as a teacher for many years and also has held several administrative positions in Barbados and West Indies cricket, including Manager of the Barbados Youth and Vice President of the Barbados Cricket Association. He started his television career in 1991 as a Presenter of the series "My Teacher, My Parent, My Friend". Since 2001, he has presented Homework Action Line and Book Talk. About CBC Channel 8CBC Channel 8 is a television station owned and operated by public broadcaster Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation in the Caribbean country of Barbados. CBC TV 8's first sign-on was in 1964 on channel 3; it later moved to channel 9 in 1984 and its current channel position, channel 8, in 1991. It is the only legally-licensed terrestrial television station in Barbados and is owned by the Government of Barbados. The studios of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation are located in The Pine, Saint Michael. |
