Maurissa Maharaj and Ken Lallee will be hosting the Chutney Soca Monarch 2007 competition live on Saturday 3rd February at Skinner Park in San Fernando. Heeralal Rampartap, Rikki Jai, Adesh Samaroo and others will be competing against reigning king Rooplal Gidharie and accompanied by the country’s best bands like Courts Nirvana, CLICO Shiv Shakti and Durga Shakti. Machel Montano is scheduled to make a guest appearance at the competition.

Maurissa Maharaj is the latest addition to 103FM's prime time line up, although she has been a presenter there for the last six years. She is the newest host of the early afternoon programme called ‘ Masti Geet’. Maurissa’s focus on a weekday from 12 noon till 3 p.m. is people on the move and students in transit. She plays only the hits, local and international, that would be especially attractive for the young. On Sundays Maurissa takes on a different tone as she presents ‘Hot like a Chulha’ from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. This programme is a concoction of all the hottest songs from then till now that listeners want to hear, as they prepare lunch and make the way to their Sunday afternoon limes.
