Hosted by Marsha Branch, Evening News on CBC Channel 8 is the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation's main news package presented each night at 7 p.m. local time. The viewers will be supplied with the latest news on local, regional and international affairs, sports and business events of the region and the world.

From the age of six, Marsha Branch repeatedly brought home academic reports from school with one thing that was always consistent, her behavior. That section read something like: "Marsha is a good student, but she is too talkative!" She decided that she would make good on these comments and would talk for a living. She began working in the Media at the age of 17, when after completing an internship at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation's, then Liberty FM, she was asked to stay on and work as an announcer. Back then she was famous for her "Mellow Moods", an hour of mellow music, between 6 and 7 p.m. She steadily began her climb to success by moving to the newsroom first as a reporter, then a presenter and co-producer of then Business show "Business Beat" and finally as a news anchor at the age of 21. But Marsha Branch had her sights set on a Master's Degree, and after completing a double major in Sociology and Psychology at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, she moved to London in 2001 and graduated a year later with a Master's in Television Journalism. She also presented for the BBC World Service and hosted and produced her own show, BBC Caribbean Magazine.

CBC Channel 8 is a television station owned and operated by public broadcaster Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation in the Caribbean country of Barbados. CBC TV 8's first sign-on was in 1964 on channel 3; it later moved to channel 9 in 1984 and its current channel position, channel 8, in 1991. It is the only legally-licensed terrestrial television station in Barbados and is owned by the Government of Barbados. The studios of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation are located in The Pine, Saint Michael.
