La Carreta
La Carreta is one of the most popular programmes for children on Telepacifico. It is broadcast on Sundays at 10 a. m. There are 3 amusing personages that present the programme - Tino, Tano and Lala. Tino (Alex Méndez) is the central character, Tano is a complaining banana, always grumbling, and Lala is a funny cheerful tin. With the help of these amusing characters the programme manages to tell children about their native country. The personages of La Carreta are different in their appearance and character so they can form many-sided view on the region and at the same time entertain its little viewers. About TelepacificoTelepacifico is a Colombian regional public television network, created in 1986 as the city of Cali celebrated its 450th anniversary. It started broadcasting in 1988, with 24 weekly programming hours. Telepacifico was the third regional network in the country, after Teleantioquia, created in 1985, and Telecaribe, created en 1986. Its signal reaches Western Colombia (Valle del Cauca, Chocó, Cauca and Nariño), although it can be received via satellite since 1996. Telepacifico stands out for its educational and informative programming. The EDUCA TV programme, started in 2001, was taken by Colombian Education Ministry as a national model. Some of the most known and talented Colombian newscasters and journalists have worked at its news shows: Mabel Kremer, Vicky Dávila, Isaac Nessim, Claudia Palacios, and Silvia Corzo.
