Lombarzilor 8 is a popular Romanian TV series of 18 episodes, produced by Mandragora Movies company, that has had international success after their film “Moartea domnului Lazarescu”, a laureate of “Un Certain Regard” prize at the festival de la Cannes 2005. The producer of the series is the famous Alex Muntenu. Lombarzilor 8 is an original project, that narrates the story of middle class families in Romania. The film is a drama, that involves its viewers in common life situations, such as some difficulties in the family, a moment of a crisis, a divorce and all other various instants that our life is full of. Remarkable actors are starring in Lombarzilor 8 on B1 TV: Luminita Gheorghiu, Teodor Corban, Ion Besoiu, Irina Chiosa, Mimi Branescu, Tudor Aaron Istodor, Doru Boguta, Clara Voda, Monica Barladeanu.

Monica Barladeanu, also known as Monica Dean, is a famous actress and model, born in Romania. She was successfully studying law when an offer came to pose for a lingerie catalogue. She accepted the offer and this brought her into the spotlight at a local level. During her first year at University Monica Barladeanu represented her college at a beauty contest “Miss Transylvania” and she immediately was offered a contract with the best model agency in Bucharest, ”M.R.A”. For a couple of years Monica could be seen in TV commercials, but she carried on with her student work. In two years she was called for an audition at a new TV channel B1 TV that was about to be launched. She began her television career with a daily TV show called “La Strada”, as a co-host. It was a show for teenagers and it brought her into the spotlight again, this time at a national level. Soon after that more and more requests came for her to do covers for magazines, to take part in interviews... She became increasingly successful. In a few months, she got her own daily half hour TV show. In November 2002, Monica Barladeanu was designated the most beautiful Romanian celebrity by the “Beau Monde” magazine and in December she was chosen “The sexiest TV Star” by the most influential Romanian TV guide, ”TV Mania”.Besides, Monica Barladeanu has been nominated for the “Top of Romanian 100 successful women” by the Capital magazine, as a model of young accomplishment.
