issues of the week. Every Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. local time the
programme
provides a deep analysis of the most noticeable news of the week.
Depending on the topic under consideration, People's
Business is hosted by members of the News and Current
Affairs Department.

the hosts
Peter
Thorne, a senior journalist at the Caribbean
Broadcasting Corporation
began his career in October 1983, the day that Maurice Bishop was put
under house arrest in
Grenada. He was the youngest journalist ever to win the CPBA Award,
which he won
in both TV and Radio. He has also won the
Barbados Economic Society Award for covering the economy, especially
the collapse of the Bank of Commerce and Credit International.
For ten years Peter Thorne had worked
with CBC, then after a brief stint
at
a local radio station, returned to the Corporation's news team. Peter's
passion in
broadcasting is covering political and
economic events.

CBC Channel 8
CBC
Channel 8 is a television station owned and operated by
public broadcaster Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation
in the Caribbean
country of Barbados. CBC TV 8's first sign-on was in 1964 on channel 3;
it later moved to channel 9 in 1984 and its current channel position,
channel 8, in 1991. It is the only legally-licensed terrestrial
television station in Barbados and is
owned by the Government of Barbados. The studios of the Caribbean
Broadcasting Corporation are
located in The Pine, Saint Michael.
