About
Time to Sing
Time
to Sing on CBC Channel 8
is an
hour of traditional hymn singing by award winning Barbadian choirs.
Since 1976 this programme has given a voice to Barbadian choirs. The
programme was developed by Rev. Wiltshire who was the Religious
Consultant at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation. Now it is hosted
by Pastor Victor Leach.
About
the host
Pastor
Victor Leach is the host of Time to Sing
and the technical supervisor
at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation. His choices in life, the
commitment to God and Church, and the love of electronics were
influenced by two very different men. As a school boy, Pastor
Leach
remembers a former Barbadian Prime Minister prophesying that the future
of
Barbados would lay in electronics. That was the day he decided that he
would
study and become an engineer.
His love of God developed when he was in his late teens, an age when
other boys were getting in trouble. In 1982 he met an evangelist called
Pastor Joseph Griffith. He began Bible Studies with the Pastor, went on
to Bible College, from which he graduated in 1988 and was ordained as a
Reverend in 1995. Victor Leach is
currently the Pastor at the Caribbean
Evangelistic Fellowship in St. Thomas.
